Our 7 Fave Dry Shampoos

Let’s face it, going through the effort to wash, dry & style our hair every day is just not going to happen. We’d rather be doing sooooo many other things. Not to mention, when half asleep and faced with the decision to get up and do our hair or to hit snooze, our sleepy brains are telling us to hit s n o o z e every time. Lucky for us, we live in a world with dry shampoo. 🙌🏼

After years of trying to figure out how to look presentable for work/school while exerting the least amount of effort (again, we’ve got better things to do!!), we’ve narrowed down our list of ride-or-die dry shampoos.

Evidence. Hair looks gr8 & time for a Snapchat selfie.

Without further ado, let’s get this thing going. From great to greatest…

7. JOHNSON & JOHNSON Baby Powder

We asked our hairstylist and he confirmed, many dry shampoos are made up of many of the same ingredients as baby powder. While it can be a little more difficult to work with, it’s great in a pinch! Plus, it’s extremely inexpensive.

6. KRISTEN ESS Style Reviving Dry Shampoo

We love Kristen Ess products and this dry shampoo is no exception. This particular formula is brunette-approved, as it doesn’t leave any white build-up. And it smells amazing!

5. DOVE Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo

Dove makes a great budget dry shampoo. It’s more concentrated than some of the others on this list, so it can tackle two-day-old hair with ease.

4. LIVING PROOF Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo

We love Living Proof dry shampoo. It works well and smells amazing. TBH, we’re running out of things to differentiate between all of these, but this is a good one.

3. BATISTE Dry Shampoo

We love Batiste. They have a big variety of different fresh scents, and their huge value-size cans make us feel better about using this every other day. This is our go-to when we have our hair up and want it to look fresh, but we don’t need to fully style it.

2. BUMBLE AND BUMBLE Bb Prêt-à-Powder

This stuff comes in powder form (vs. an aerosol can) which means you can bring it in your carry on! It helps add texture and volume back into lifeless hair and is really buildable.

1. DRYBAR Detox Dry Shampoo

This is our #1 ride-or-die, buy-two-at-a-time, dry shampoo. We all agree that we’ve never found anything better. It is amazing, like all things Drybar, and we cannot get enough. It’s so precious, we try to avoid using it every single time we need a touch-up, so we grab for some of the others in this list to supplement when we don’t need such a heavy hitter. It does come out a little white, but as blondes, we don’t mind.

Well, there you have it. 7 ways to get more sleep, spend more time with loved ones, get to the gym, work on your side hustle, or just watch more TV.

PRO TIP:

For best results, always use dry shampoo before bed. Then, if need be, add more in the morning. You can also put some in when your hair is freshly washed (hello, added texture/volume). The key is to have the dry shampoo in your hair to absorb oils as they are produced vs. to absorb them after the fact (or so we’ve been told).

Have you tried any of these? Do we need to add to our list? Let us know in the comments!!

P.S. we will add photos & more shopping info once we get back from the cabin!
