Wedding day is finally here! Our wedding was truly the best day of our lives and I can’t wait to share it with you.
So, let’s start from the beginning, I woke up around 7:30AM. I had showered the night before so all I really needed to do was pack everything up, make sure I didn’t forget anything, put on some eye patches and head to the venue. Our hair and makeup didn’t start until 9:30 which was so ideal because we didn’t have to be up at the crack of dawn. Once I made sure I had all my belongings, we all headed to the getting ready suite, which was on the same property of the wedding. The suite is BEAUTIFUL. It’s a big space, all white, lots of natural light, it is perfect for a bridal suite!

When we arrived, we had music blaring, coffee delivered by my fabulous personal attendants, and had customized PJs waiting for us to put on. These getting ready pajamas were amazing, they were so comfy, cute & easy to get on/off over hair & makeup. I also gave everyone a pair of Bridesmaid socks, which really completed the whole look.
I gave the girls their other present on Thursday night at the Rehearsal dinner. The gift included a cute personalized purse from Etsy, and a personalized YSL lipgloss. This gift was great because it was cute, but also practical. They all used the purses and lip glosses on the day of the wedding, but they will be able to use both gifts after the wedding (which can be good to consider).

I began my hair first, I had a trial in May, so I already knew exactly what I wanted. We had 3 hair people and 3 make up artists so we all took turns doing hair/makeup. In between my hair and make-up, I had some down time which I loved. Getting ready was one of my favorite parts of the day because I had some down time, I was relaxed and didn’t feel rushed. We had mimosas, danced, chatted & just took in every single moment. Then it was time for my makeup, which I also did a trial for so I knew what to expect. We used WarPaint for hair and makeup, they did such a great job!
A little later in the morning, we had a breakfast bar delivered to the suite. We had bagels, fruit, yogurt, and a variety of food options so we didn’t get hungry. There were lots of snacks and drinks provided in the suite too which was really nice if anyone ever needed something!
Another special part of the morning was when I gave my mom and mother-in-law their wedding gifts & cards. I wanted to give them something that was not only unique & special, but something that was meaningful and something they would hold on to forever. I had a lot of ideas, but I ended up going with engraved Chanel perfume bottles. I bought the perfume myself & then I found a company (Inkwell Designs) that will engrave it for you, so I shipped it off to her. I had their names engraved on the front & then on the back I wrote: mother of the bride (or groom) and our wedding date, 7.24.21. It was such a special moment that was captured perfectly by our amazing photographer Janelle Elise! They were so grateful for the gift& it was a small way to show my appreciation for all of their love and support over the years.
After everyone’s hair & make up were done, our photographer & videographer had arrived so we took some photos in our pajamas & popped some champagne. At this point, we were running a little behind so those photos didn’t last too long before it was time for me to get into my dress.
It was finally time to put on my dress! My mom and my three sisters helped me get ready. None of my friends had seen my dress yet, so we did a reveal with them which was SO fun, I highly recommend keeping your dress a surprise! Once I was ready, Janelle lined my friends up with their eyes close and then they opened and then they finally got to see the dress! It was so fun to see all of their reactions for the first time.
Next, it was time to read my letter from Grant. I knew I would get emotional for this because we had talked about this day for what seems like forever! He wrote the sweetest words and I loved that intimate part of our day. I also wrote him a card & he read it at another time in his groom’s suite. After the letter, it was time for my first look with my dad! My dad also had not seen my dress yet so it was another surprise! The first look I had with my dad was a memory I will cherish forever <3
And last but not least, it was time for my first look with Grant. Throughout the whole morning I wasn’t nervous, but for some reason, I was getting nervous for this. I think because this is such an anticipated moment, it was making me nervous. But once I saw Grant, all my nerves went away. We shed a few tears, talked about how excited we were, and just enjoyed the moment of finally getting to see each other.
After that, we took some photos just us two, then wedding party joined us and we took group photos, then the guys took pics and then us girls took group pics. Janelle is SO efficient and really knows how to get through all the photos at a quick pace, so no one gets antsy. After we took wedding party photos, we took family photos & extended family photos. It was so nice to be able to do all of this before the actual wedding even began because then after the wedding, we could just enjoy it and not have to worry about photos!

Once we were done with family photos, it was time to head back to the bridal suite because it was 3:30! Ceremony was starting in 30 minutes and our guests were starting to arrive. Part 2 coming tomorrow!
